I don't know about other areas of the UK, but where I live I don't think I've ever seen a wreath on a front door. Very few put up Christmas lights on their house either.
But I notice that Amazon UK have wreath storage bags up to 24 inch diameter for sale through various merchants, the most expensive being £6.99 (plus postage of course), but they do look a bit flimsy. I wouldn't think they'd last long if you were regularly putting your pillow in it and taking it out.
