Dear Catherine,

Arachne correspondence quite some time ago from Noelene Lafferty indicated
she might be republishing, adding poems - to be sold at the OIDFA Adelaide
Australia Congress. I purchased her earlier edition at the 2005 IOLI
Convention from a small vendor of lace merchandise. It is 8 sheets of paper,
folded in half to make 16 pages, enclosed in a peach colored heavier paper
cover, and cost $5 U.S. It bears no date or ISBN. Perhaps the cover color
has been changed for a new edition. But, now everyone has something of a
description to find, and the title of Inspired by Lace.

This kind of publication is highly desirable to me. To avoid loss and
damage, it has been put in a tall clear protective sleeve. In the years since
2005, all the new poems Noelene has shared on Arachne have been printed
and slipped into the same protective sleeve. Quite a treasure trove.

I think someone in Australia may be carrying a few to the U.S. Everyone
attending: If there is a list of vendors given to you in your goody bag at
the IOLI, look for one from Australia.

Catherine, I've taken a quick look, and did not find this at

As you have seen in another letter today, at least one Australian (Liz) is
winging her way across the Pacific to California. I hope all our guests
from abroad have a wonderful and gracious welcome to America.

I have received an email from a UK lacemaker who has kindly offered to
buy
a copy of Noelene's Poems for me but we are wondering if it will be
available at the IOLI Convention this month in the US or whether I've got
it
wrong and that it will be available at the OIDFA Convention in Australia,
also taking place this month? Noelene is Australian so maybe I've got it
wrong! However, I do seem to recall Holly Van Sciver being mentioned with
regard to having copies for sale. Can anyone else recall any US lace
vendors being mentioned?

Many thanks, Catherine Barley
