When we use knitting and crochet yarns plied at less angle of twist unplying can occur. So good for me as a spinner to know to put a bit extra twist into my handspun used for bobbin lace.
Sue M Angle of twist can be determined by placing yarn vertical under protractor so it lays at 90 degree mark. Slide yarn parallel until the twist ply diagonal matches a degree angle. Then subtract that angle from 90 to get twist angle of yarn. 20-30 degrees for knitting. 30-40 for weft, 40-45 for warp.
