Perhaps you can just pull the elastic as tightly as needed, cut off the extra (just leaving a bit to overlap). Then with needle and thread, sew the elastic and let it pull itself into the casing. You could also have a small blue rose at hand (something blue) to sew onto the place where the casing meets to hide the joint. Karen in Malta.
