I have always maintained that if one claims to be or advertises their services as a Tutor of whatever subject, one should be prepared to pass on ALL skills and knowledge, so that our craft may continue for the benefit of future generations. We have been led to believe that lacemakers of the past often burnt their prickings etc so that others might not copy them, but of course they made lace for a living, whilst the majority of us make it for sheer pleasure and enjoyment and also sometimes find it to be challenging, so no reason whatsoever to keep some our skills a secret!
