Hi,

I've looked closely at the picture. It really doesn't look as complicated as a
spiral. The nearest, I would suggest, is the spider option (illustration 19b)
on p67 of Practical Skills in Bobbin Lace. Must go and try it and see what it
looks like in the flesh.
