Hi Ruth and everyone You want to increase the pattern, if going from a thread of 36 wraps to one of 27 wraps.
Use the ratio of 27 to 36 to find out how much to enlarge, and 'round' it. so: 27 is to 36 as 1 is to 1.333; enlarge your pattern by 133% then - with the thread you want to use, wind a few pairs and do some small bit that will let you see if the pattern enlargement will accommodate the threads. If you have to take the pattern to a commercial copier, it would be worthwhile to print the pattern at several increments (e.g. 130%, 133%, 135%). In the front of T4Lace there should be some information on enlarging or reducing per wraps required. Hope this helps!
