while it would be nice to eliminate the backup vor indicator (mid-cont MD200)
what would be cooler is to nuke the annunciation control unit like garmin
has done in their units.. (auto GPS to LOC switching and CDI mode
on the unit face, plus no hold for proc turn outbound) http://rob.com/rob/530/
but while we are asking, the g530 outputs auto nav skew on the 429 bus, so
g530 drivers don't even need to move the HSI arrow with a sandel, it just
sequences through the T appr for all the intercepts and turns.. while most
likely SFS will do the same, UPS drivers must skew the arrow at ever point
along the appr.. (you are using the certified radio to fly the approach
right :-) (wink)
also, at SnF there was PFD (EIFS) that had AI, DG, AS, Alt, all
on one 5" LCD with air data, flux gate, and three gyros (mechanical)
all for $9k! made by [EMAIL PROTECTED] of Germany distributed by
