No offense to you, _Michael_, but how familiar are you with the Jamaican language?

_Amir_: Expert confirmation includes more for me than just confirming that it's the same orthography. We also want to verify that the wikipedia makes proper use of the target language in general (grammar, lexis, naturalness of discourse structure and suchlike).

As I had written on 21 April:

Looking at the analysis of its wikipedia pages on the incubator [1],
the last three months have seen 3+ editors with tons of activity.
The most used core messages have all been translated. [2]
I'm contacting a good friend of mine whose mother is a Patois
speaker, just to see whether he can recommend a scholar for
verifying content being actually written in Patois.
So, I hope that jam.wikipedia.org - which currently still gives an
error message - will be a reality soon!

While my friend hasn't responded yet, I've been contacted by Marcos Williamson with the following advice:

I would recommend contacting someone from the Jamaican Language Unit
at the University of the West Indies http://www.mona.uwi.edu/dllp/jlu/

Could _one of my LangCom colleagues_ please look into that? Thanks.

Oliver

If we can count Michael's comment about the orthography as an expert confirmation, then let's approve it.

If not, we need to find another expert.

I'd be liberal and say Yes, let's approve.

    Hoi,
The question is not only if it is eligible ... we agree that it
is. The question is what needs to be done to reach the final stage.
    Thanks,

If we're talking about Patois (ISO code jam), then
it's definitely a valid language. I vote for accepting it.

I’ve looked at it and it’s just the same orthography I’ve
            published in http://www.evertype.com/books/alice-jam.html

This is definitely good to go.
