Hi All,

The problem is on a Windows 7, 64-bit computer with both LT 2.6 and LT 2.7.
(Possibly related, but possibly only coincidence: Last Friday, LT GUI crashed.)

1. Before I start LT, netstat shows that port 8081 is not used.

2. Open the GUI (languagetool.jar), select Text Checking>Options. Select 'Run
as server on port' [use the default 8081]. This message appears:
LanguageTool HTTP server could not be started on host "localhost", port 8081.
Maybe something else is running on that port already?

3. Click OK, LT operates correctly (as best I can tell).

Do you know the possible cause of the problem? (I spent all afternoon searching
for answers, but I was not successful.)

Regards,

Mike Unwalla
