Hi Daniel, The problem is corrected.
As best I remember, many months ago, when I did the LT server test, LT server worked on the machine. Some observations: 1) Yesterday, I disabled the anti-virus/firewall software and LT server worked fine for a short time. Then the problem started again. 2) This morning, Windows Task Manager showed that 2 instances of javaws were running, but the Taskbar showed only I instance of LT. I killed both processes, and the problem was corrected. Thanks for your help. It's difficult to diagnose from remote, we basically only show the message "LanguageTool HTTP server could not be started..." when there's really something already running at that port. Did LT server mode ever work on that machine?
