After a lot of surfing on google, I get this result -- All IBM Thinkpad that come with IBM 802.11 b/g wireless card (Athero 5212) has poor signal strength with MadWifi driver on Linux. OpenSolaris ath driver uses the same code base as MadWifi (if I am wrong, pls point it out). So the same problem happened with Solaris 10 on my Thinkpad X40. I ordered 2 new wireless cards from amazon marketplace one is IBM Intel 2200BG, the other is Lenovo Intel 2915BG. But I will first try ndiswrapper with Windows Atheros driver. If it does not work, I'll replace IBM card with Intel one. -Jack This message posted from opensolaris.org
