What changes and improvements would you like from the OpenLaszlo
download/install/build processes?
I'm thinking about simplifying the OpenLaszlo build, download, and
install process. One way to simplify it would be to produce fewer
build products; by my count, we release six distributions for each
release, including nightly releases, enumerated at http://
www.openlaszlo.org/oldownload
Which download do you use?
Does anyone use the servlet only distribution?
When you first downloaded openlaszlo, did you already have a servlet
container running? Was it tomcat? Did you *want* our tomcat
distribution?
How would you feel if you had to download and install tomcat
separately? That would get rid of OS-specific development kits, and
to run it, you'd have to set a few environment variables to tell
OpenLaszlo where to find Tomcat.
Could we get rid of the source distribution once we have totally
solid subversion instructions, including how to fetch a particular
tag, as in:
To fetch openlaszlo 3.3, do svn co http://svn.openlaszlo.org/
openlaszlo/tags/3.3.0/
(which will, in fact, give you a source distribution of OpenLaszlo 3.3)
