I see your point here -- as SOLO deployment becomes more common, we  
should work on a download/distribution option targeted at SOLO  
deployers.

Do you use the compiler from the command line?
${LPS_HOME}/WEB-INF/lps/server/bin/lzc --help
blew my mind. Easter eggs from ptw.

Tarring up a source distribution is one of the easier pieces of the  
build process, so I'll plan to keep that one.

I've been getting several individual responses saying that they only  
need the servlet, and a few saying that they want an out-of-the-box  
installer that works. Keep the replies coming, please; it really  
helps to know what the developer community needs.
