We didn't use to have hidden email addresses. I think that this is a
distraction: we should ask Ubuntu to decide that: to be enfranchised
in Ubuntu, you must be able to be communicated with via email, and you
must allow your address to be shared with the voting system in use
(currently CIVS). This is what /used/ to happen back in the founding
of Ubuntu before the hidden email options were added to LP. -Rob

While I would love to see the option of hidden email addresses be
removed as trust me it's not helpful when I need to contact people in
teams, many people will object. There are many people nowadays who wish
to remain hidden but still active in other areas where they can be found
but do not want their email address disclosed, one such team that has a
lot of members like this would be Ubuntu Women .
