I'm not thinking of Ubuntu in suggesting that, but rather our whole user base; Ubuntu have a specific need: they need to be able to extract the email address of the group; most teams don't have that need; we can avoid alienation of them by only offering it where it is needed, in some fashion. I'm not stuck on it of course, but I do think it is complexity worth having given the high value put on privacy by some folk.
