Agreed. Any takers for adding PDF functionality to lhelp or docview ;)
DocView will shortly have PDF support - but only in the form of saving
help topics or selected topics to PDF, which could then later be
printed (or emailed) if needed.
As for your whole idea of using PDF's as some form of application help
system - that's just crazy. You are trying to fit a square into a
round hole. Use a decent documentation system like DocView instead -
which was designed for that purpose.

I use PDF for application help. Works perfectly, F1 and all.
It has all properties you expect from a help system (including hyperlinks),
and can be used to print to boot.
