I think some clarification is required. The server in question is backing up the contents of it's RAID drive, which is separate from the boot drive to an external backup drive. This has been a problem well before the 10.6.3 update. The server also backs up another server also running 10.6.3 that is bound to the same directory.
So there isn't anything wrong with the setup of the servers, it looks more like something lbackup / rsync is getting wrong. Michael.
