Is there no cracking open of doors or softening of hearts in the LDS leadership and staff toward GPL type licensing? I'd like to fancy I wasn't the only FLOSS believer who was left a bit speechless. There are of course, after all, very good spiritual and moral reasons why many of us have chosen to stand behind GPL-type software, and I'm not sure it's good to ignore the thought that those values might be totally shut out in the church we are loyal to.
I have only been on this list a few months, so I may be unaware of some kind of "understanding" or "truce" that was previously made regarding this concern. In any case, it would do my heart good to hear a little about it or to be referred to the appropriate archive.
