Hi, everyone. I've been invited to represent the NoCat development team
on this list. For a while, we had been developing an LRP derivative for
wireless projects called WRP. After putting some work into it, we ran
into the
fundamental limitations of the floppy media, especially considering that
our flagship project (NoCatAuth) was being developed in perl, of all
things, which would *never* fit on a floppy.

A few things have revived my interest since then. OpenAP, in particular,
shows that there is a great need for free wireless network software in
embedded environments. Recent developments in uClibc have restored my
faith in the possibility of fitting useful linux applications in
floppy-sized distributions. Finally, demand for a C port of NoCatAuth
suggests that we revisit the notion of supporting a platform for it.

So here we are. You can find all of our work at http://nocat.net. Right
now, WRP is kind of in disrepair, but I'll be looking shortly at
bringing it up to date with the latest busybox, uClibc, and linux
kernels, or perhaps merging functionality with other LEAF projects. Your
comments and advice are welcome. Please feel free to direct any
questions my way, especially those relating to wireless networking
distros.
