You can also use plain text, but the PHP code that is supposed to place a
pre tag around it is broken. So, you have to do this yourself. That reminds
me, I need to generate a test case for a SF support request to fix this.

Actually all of the documents in the DocManager are stored in a MySQL
database. If we can figure out how to query it, this may be possible. Right
now we are backing up the documents with a shell script. David did a lot of
work enhancing my original script.

Maybe the proliferation of easy to use XML editors will fix this, but I
wont hold my breath.
