Well, I finally got around to trying out this latest version, but I
didn't have a lot of luck getting it running. I definitely like the way
things are looking with it, though (I'm still on the March version), and
my network card is finally included with the modules! :) I ran into
several problems that I had to try and hack my way around with varying
degrees of success. I had to edit the "network" file because the CIPD
(or something like that) variable was tacking on an extra '/' to the ip,
so it was ending up with something like '192.168.1.2//3' (something like
that...you get the idea). Fixing that got my network going, but I
didn't get too much further. Logging didn't appear to be working, so I
couldn't see anything that was going on. I could ping my gateway (DSL
router) and my internal network, but I couldn't access any other IPs.
Also, I had some trouble getting the latest dnscache.lrp working...(not
that it mattered while I couldn't hit the external network). :)
The syslinux.cfg seemed to indicate that it supported a CONF=myfile.cnf,
but it didn't seem to like that keyword, but I noticed that you could
specify a conf attribute in each config declaration, so I got around
that. I had to change the umount call of the apkg script...it was
failing when I did an 'apkg -b' because it was trying to umount $DEV
rather than the variable that it had been mounted as. BTW, has the
kernal been compiled with ipsec support? Also, is there a newer version
of ipsec.lrp floating around anywhere? I didn't see it in the list of
packages...
Anyway, I don't know if this is useful information to anyone, but I
thought I'd pass it along. I'm looking forward to this latest version
once things get stabilized.
Thanks!

Subject: [Leaf-devel] New Oxygen Development Image!
The biggest change was a security cleanout of permissions. Many
binaries are no longer readable or executable by "world" (that is, they
went from 755 to 750).
I'm very much interested in getting this out soon. It needs some
pounding on, and hacking into problems. I've not looked at the setup
disk recently, but perhaps that should be looked at.
