Don't know why.  There is a recent attempt to upgrade Eigerstein en
masse (called Dachstein) but I don't know which version of Linux it
uses.

I upgraded Oxygen to Linux 2.2.16, 17, 18, and now 19 as time went on. 
I don't think Eigerstein goes through as many updates as Oxygen does:
I've tried to release often, and update code frequently.  So each time a
2.2 kernel comes out, I snatch it.
