Since I switched from my dnscache to Jacques Nilo's between rc4 and rc5,
your dnscache configuration is probably the culprit.  See Jacques' page on
dnscache, and verify you've got it setup correctly for your configuration:

I suspect the problem has to do with your query address.  Check
/etc/resolv.conf to see which DNS servers you're querying...you can talk to
dnscache on any of the ethernet interface IP's, or on the localhost IP
(127.0.0.1).  Make sure dnscache is configured to allow queries from the IP
you're using...I don't know if Jacques' dnscache allows queries from
localhost by default.
