Correct, and it requires soldering. Email me off-list for a schematic of
the ADM. Pin 30 on the ATA-Disk Chip and pin 62 on the ATA controller
(LD017_A0) compose the two ends of R8. A switch/jumper will require a
connection to VCC also. I think I have that right.

This is only possible on the versions with the R8 build time option
enabled. I've seen it work at the embedded conference. SST demoed a unit
with R8 enabled, and a pc board sitting between the motherboard and the
ADM. Using a dip switch bank they were able to switch WP state on the
fly by toggling pin 30 on the IDE interface.

    Note: versions with the R8 build time option enabled are only
    available to OEMs that want quantity.

We probably should move any further hardware discussion to the
leaf-hardware list.
