Mismatches between particular vintages of the LNE100TX and particular vintages of the tulip driver once were commonplace. But the newer tulip drivers seem to be pretty robust, and anyway, if all 3 cards are the same version, driver incompatibility with *one* of them is unlikely to be causing the problem. We need a better report of the error message than "(failure)" to be able to suggest anything specific. From this, I don't really know if the system is failing to detect the NIC (that is, the problem comes when you insmod tulip.o) or detects and initializes it (assigns it an eth* interface name) but cannot configure it (that is, assign it an IP address). As a preliminary, notice whether all 3 NICs are visible to the BIOS before Bering starts to boot. If not, consider the possibility that you have a pci-slot problem. Also try moving the NICs around in the box to see if the problem is associated with a particular NIC or a particular slot. If you need more help, post a more descriptive report of the error you are getting. -- -------------------------------------------"Never tell me the odds!"-------- Ray Olszewski -- Han Solo Palo Alto, California, USA [EMAIL PROTECTED] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------- This sf.net email is sponsored by: OSDN - Tired of that same old cell phone?
