Hello Scott,

The crc32.o module is important for some cards, but that is also the 
case with mii.o, 8390.o or pci-scan (or even a combination of those). 
Other cards might have other dependencies or no dependencies at all. 
You should always check the modules.dep file from the correct modules 
tarball to check dependencies.

It's not a Bering / Bering-uClibc issue, but differences between 
kernel versions (2.4.20 versus 2.4.24 in this case). An other kernel 
version can have new dependencies.

Maybe the best way to solve this is make a note of "modules.dep" 
somewhere in the FAQ?
