Sounds good, but is it worth the hassle? This is almost the same as just
replacing all the packages on the storage medium (or exchanging a cdrom)
and reboot. It has two advantages ofcourse: possibility to tune the config
a bit (merging) but that won't be needed in most cases and, if it's
possible, preparing a new moddb (but this can also be done offline).
