OK, so you may have a 2.6 kernel on your PC. 2.6 has its own IPSEC implementation which differs dramatically from the *Swan implementation on Kernel 2.4. I have no experience with the 2.6 implementation. The OpenSwan project provides just configuratin interface in this case.
