Thanks you took the time to answer me. I have looked at the Plop boot 
loader a time ago but testing it under VMware didn't succeed in letting 
me run LEAF. I think the best course is to dive into the distribution 
and see if it contains a module for an USB-driver and then use the old 
route of the floppy to start and the USB-stick for the rest. I have 
looked at a way to flash a new ROM but for this board. the EPOX 
EP-58MVP3C I haven't found an upgrade for starting with USB.However,I 
haven't tried what happens when I put a startup USB stick in a slot, 
Most MB's show it in the BIOS as a disk.
I'll start experimenting.
