This shouldn't matter, right? I mean, either way, the final balance
should be the same, right? I find -r to be much more informative.

This is close, but it'd be nice to see the running total as well. I
guess a better example of what I was trying to show above is:

                                          Shares Tot Shares
Basis Tot Basis
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
01/21 Purchase Equity:Starting 370.949 ABC 370.949 ABC
$3140.89 $3140.89
12/26 Reinvest Income:Dividends 9.928 ABC 380.877 ABC
$113.68 $3254.57
12/28 Sell Assets:Investments -380.877 ABC 0
0 $3254.57
                Income:Cap Gains 0 0
$1148.37 $4402.94

The Sell transaction is a little confusing because it's a "transfer"
within the same account, so I'm not sure how that would look. If the
proceeds of the transaction where transferred to another account, I
imagine it'd look something like:

12/28 Sell Assets:Checking -380.877 ABC 0 $-4402.94 $-1148.37
            Income:Cap Gains 0 0 $1148.37 0

So basically, you can see each transaction in terms of the numbers of
shares transacted and the actual cost basis side-by-side.

My use case for this is to be able to print out a consolidated
transaction report to keep with my tax records when I sell shares of
commodities. If it'd be helpful as an example of what I'm looking for,
I can try to attach or send you one of my spreadsheets that I
currently use to track my share transactions.
