Craig - that's great - thanks for taking this on. It's very good to see the 3.0 docs taking shape.
A couple of sections I think would be very useful for those just getting started might be something like: 1. What you need to understand, or need tell your accountant, to explain the differences between Ledger and other systems. e.g. Ledger doesn't really distinguish between credit and debit accounts so the sign of a value might not be what you expect. There was some discussion a while back in this thread: http://groups.google.com/group/ledger-cli/browse_thread/thread/d45d69adb0c09f7b/80177ab633771b77 and 2. Making Ledger do what outsiders expect e.g. How to actually produce that P&L, balance sheet and cash-flow report for your board. Maybe these would be more appropriate for the wiki initially, or perhaps they already exist somewhere and I haven't found them yet. It took me a while to find the wiki, actually - perhaps we need a link to it in section 1.3 of the docs, which I notice also has an out-of-date link to the Sourceforge mailing list. Thanks for the good work - this has made me update my old 2.6 to 3.0 :-) Quentin
