Ledger is open source and depends on users to keep going. John W. has done an amazing job writing the foundation ,the rest of us need to help out. Consider jumping in with a patch to fix the bug that is irritating you. Steve Purcell and I are the principle maintainers of the emacs code. I have done work in the C++ code base but not in a while.
