Not answering directly your question, but you might be interested in ledger2beancount[^] and using Fava on the automatically generated conversion to beancount from your main ledger. I'm using ledger as my day-to-day plain text accounting tool, but rely on Fava as web UI (because it's just *great*), automatically generating beancount at every git push to my personal ledger repo.
