I would love to see a bit more about how you integrated Asterisk and Sugar?

I do get the sense that Asterisk is quickly loosing ground to these new 
fangled PBX's from microsoft and similar simply because they appear to 
plug into a bunch of other applications easily - on the other hand 
whilst Asterisk *can* be plugged into stuff, it doesn't do so much out 
of the box.  Most of the desktop integration tools are either expensive 
or half finished (ADM?)

I would very much like to have incoming calls bring up my Thunderbird 
address book / open Sugar on that contact / Search for the customer is 
LSMB and pull up their previous invoices...

You might want to consider commercialising the integration that you have 
done - perhaps push some of the changes upstream to stabalise 
interfaces, etc..
