I think all in all we have to be happy with this when you consider the
opposition and that the formation, tactics and some of the Leeds players are
clearly struggling at this level.

I think the first 30 minutes was the most inept I've seen from a Leeds side for
a long time. After they tried to put it down to Forest coming at us and
outplaying us. I think it was more to do with our system and the way we just
kept giving the ball away. The 4-3-3 is madness and Becchio on his own has to
be
the worse tactical decision from any Leeds manager ever. It's ridiculous. Not
only is the bloke not up to this league he is asked to play as a lone striker,
it's just doesn't make any sense.

All credit to Grayson though for changing things and all credit to the team who
picked themselves up and in their own limited way took the game to Forest, We
were poor but we were the better team in the 2nd half and looked like the only
team who wanted the win. As I said, I'm happy with that.

Schmeichel - 7. Didn't have a lot to do but was faultless.

Connolly - 5. Worried about him defensively and hasn't shown anything going
forward like he did for first 20 mins against the Rams .

Bessone - 5. Better but he really is lacking at times defensively mainly with
his positioning. He gives the attacker too much room.

Collins - 6. Again better and I thought him and Naylor after a dodgy first half
hour actually did ok. Shambles for the goal but generally decent , solid , no
nonsense defending.

Naylor - 6. Ditto

Johnson - 6. He disappoints time and time, the amount of times he was in a good
position and he just failed to deliver. His short game is also lacking, he
can't
give a simple ball then run and get the return. Having said that his cross for
the goal was superb and he has got a nice left foot , I just think he'll never
make it.

Howson - 4. So disappointing for me. I am his greatest fan, I know this lad can
make it but he has to do more. He looked like he was cruising, playing short
balls to Kilkenny then sitting back and saying well that's my job done. That's
not good enough Johnny ! I think he made one good forward run. He cant be in
the
team if he plays like he did today. It's that simple.

Kilkenny - 7. Better. He's our most intelligent footballer. He likes to keep
position and at this level that will be crucial. It's just unfortunate that for
most of the game the players ahead of him can't hold on to it and return it.

Sam - 7. Great goal, great run, appalling first 30 mins but improved.

Watt - 5. I thought first half he was shocking but he came into second half and
certainly worked hard throughout.

Becchio -4. First half he was Becchio (awful) - no headers won, no control, no
link up play, completely exposed by the system and his lack of footballing
talent. Second half when we took control he looked better, showed a bit of
control and bit of holding the ball up. Should have scored with 2 really good
chances. The first showed what he is all about. Put through my Watt, showed the
control of a carthorse and the chance went begging, the second he just had to
put his head on it but that was too much for him. When is Grayson going to wake
up to the fact that this lad is not good enough for this level of football. Tap
ins and headers from 5 yards are one thing, being able to control the ball,
draw
the keeper and slot it hom eis another. So frustrated that Grayson can't see it
and all I hear now on the phone ins etc is that the system is exposing him. Yes
it is but he was expeosed before Grayson decided to play him alone. Argghhhhh !

Subs:

Clayton - 0. Can this lad play ? His contributions in the last 2 teams albeit
short have been shocking.

Grayson - credit for changing it but I thought 3 points were there for the
taking, he could have taken Johnson off and put white on.

Good support from the Leeds fans.

Re: the stamp. Not as clear-cut as that. Watt did an old pro's trick -
looked for the defender's foot and "accidentally" trod on his toes (being
sure to be looking elsewhere, so he could do the "oh sorry mage, didn't see
you there..."). Hunter's reaction was to stamp heavily, Johnson barges him,
it all goes off. Yellow cards to both is probably fair, but I'll defer to
Brian (or any other ROTL) for an FA

Agree with most of what has already been said. Missed the stamp but hear it
shouldve been a straight red and a pen job. The ref was clearly out of his
depth throughout. During our 'cornerfest' of the last twenty minutes or so
there was so much wrestling going on in their box - blatant and ridiculous.

Also, where does he get 6 mins from? The game was stopped twice for over
five minutes whilst the ref tried to work out what he was doing.

We were absolutely overran in the first twenty minutes but were, overall,
the better side. The 4-5-1 system suits us better away from home.
