Sean,
Do you really think Collins and Bruce are each better than Kisnorbo?
And have we seen enough of McCartney to be sure he's better than Parker?
Cheers!
Sean

Subject: [LU] Tuesday
I still don't know what to make of Tuesday night. The thing that puzzles
me most is that it was the same goalkeeper and back four (other than
McCartney in for White after Doncaster) that played so well to keep the
previous clean sheets> How many people picked out Collins and Hughes (the
main culprits for Tuesday's debacle) as our best players against
Sheffield?
So why so crap on Tuesday? Parkin was a lot better than I expected, but
Collins was atrocious. I was disappointed when we signed him permanently
as I didn't rate him too highly last year, but Hughes has done OK at right
back, and with Conolley injured, who would honestly have wanted Crowe to
play instead of him?
At this stage, i don't know if I'd change it arund too much (although I
personally would like to see Bromby given a chance) unless Conolley and
Kaspar are fit again (it seems unlikely). A back four needs to work as a
unit, and so I can't see that frequent changes are going to help much.
I thought Bradley Johnson was our best player in the first half, but Faye
has to be given a chance, and overall Ive been disappointed with Sam and
Gradel this season.
My starting lineup, assuming all players available
Kaspar
Conolley Collins Bruce McCartney
Snodgrass Faye Kilkenny Johnson
Somma (or McCormack) Paynter
But I bet we don't get to see that 11 together at any point this season.
