I hope I don't sound as though I am bragging about my career....I simply mention this for one good reason - I know how media works, be it here in Canada on elsewhere. I was in radio news as a writer/broadcaster before I thankfully, moved into the sports side. I had the displeasure of breaking the thalidomide tragedy in, I believe, 1963. I was deep into news reaearch in other areas, including government mis-management etc.
Question - Can any of you confirm that the BBC News team is left-leaning... meaning, virtually supporting another to do with Labour. Reason I ask this is because in Canada, the CBC, like BBC, is publicly owned....not a private enterprise. The CBC is left-leaning to the extreme....anything it can do to embarrass the Tory government, or non-Labour legislatures in the provinces, it will also. I found it despicable that the BBC would release any story like it did prior to the World Cup announcements. That certainly sank any hope there was for England to get 2018. Yes, I realize many of you couldn't care less about the national team or anything to do with the World Cup.......or anything to do with that corrupt organization called FIFA. Hells bells, you've got the Summer Olympics in 2012....same hate surely goes toward the IOC. If no one else, ITV, SKY or whatever was going to air with the story of corruption, then why did BBC have to do it when they did. Just as I mentioned a few days ago, I'm one person who can love more than one sport.......similarly, I happen to love more than one football team..... Leeds United AND England......and even Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland... and Ireland.
