It's all about opinions Terry and mine is and always will be that Becchio is
not
good enough. He's one paced, no good in the air, very limited ability on the
floor and does nothing but plod around the pitch most of the time. There was an
occassion yesterday where we broke and the ball was played out to Becchio who
was on the charge - the ground just seemed to swallow him up and the defender
just raced past him and got the ball. Someone behind me said "F*ck me Becchio's
slow" - as if it was a surprise.

I've give him credit for getting in some good positions for most of his tap ins
this season and yesterday proved the point. He didn't get a touch on the goal
but he was there making a nuisance of himself. His saving grace is that he has
scored a few goals this season but how many would Somma have got if he'd
started
most matches ? I think Somma is premier league - he reminds me of Torres (ok
it's at a lower level) and we'll end up losing him soon if he doesn't get a
game. Soon as he came on what did he do ? He made an intelligent run down our
left dragging the centre back out of position.

and as for trying to claim an assist for Becchio's part in the goal - that's a
bit desperate Terry - the ball was fired at him and he managed to head it
directly in the air - he knew nowt about it. Watch Becchio on his 50:50 headers
- he very rarely wins one. I think out of about 10 yesterday he won 1.

So Terry would you rather Becchio in the team than Somma ?

I'm not Becchio's biggest fan and a lot of Rich Walker's criticisms are
justified but where I do take issue with Rich is the total blindness he has
to the good things Becchio does do. All credit to Somma for a superb finish
with his first touch to get the second goal but who created the space for
him to get the shot in? Becchio that's who, with a great header. Oh no that
can't be right can it. Becchio doesn't win any headers.

Today Becchio scored one in my opinion (though it could be that he just
created enough of a nuisance to put the defender off and prevented him from
keeping Snoddy's header out)and helped Somma to score the other, so although
he may not be Berbatov he is not the total numpty Rich would have us believe
he is.
