I suppose like the majority of fans, when I sit down at the end of the season
and see where we have finished and compare that to what I thought / hoped/
would settle for at the start of the season I will be happy and satisfied BUT
to me expectations etc have to change with circumstances
If ,before a tough away game ,you state that you would settle for a point - it
does not necessairly have to follow that you go home happy after a draw - for
example if we are 3 -0 up at some stage then anything less than a victory is
not a good outcome, even if 3 3 would be viewed as OK before kick off
I feel that way about this season - yes we have more than achieved our goal BUT
given the way the season has panned out I feel that it is a big opportunity
missed if we do not get promoted ,and an opportunity that may not come around
again for a number of years - the teams this season are as poor as they have
been in this division for ages - no ex Prem teams well placed  financially and
footballing wise - unlike previous years where yo-yo teams like Bolton and WBA
have been in the championship.
It remains to be seen who comes down and thier chances of instant pormotion but
to me, this season was a change and it looks , at present, as if we have blown
it
