>>As for Gradel asking for a transfer. Another piece of
media manipulation and bullshit. Why ask and why now? We want to sell or we
do not. It was a matter of price and using the money.
Another one of Stoat's crafty crafted shifting realities as the truth of
the
moment is progressively morphed every so often till it is unrecognizable.

Actually Mike, it's quite the opposite. Bates has played hardball again
here with the player's agent. Normally, a player would expect a "loyalty
bonus" - a cut of the transfer fee, when he's sold.
But as with Schmeichel, he's been told that if he wants to leave, he has to
ask to leave. And if you put in a transfer request, there's no loyalty
bonus. So Gradel had to put in a transfer request, and forego his bonus, if he
wanted to go to France and trouser a pay rise. As a result, we keep more
of the fee. It's good business - there's no way to force a player to stay
these days. And Gradel was on a Bosman at the end of the season anyway.
Sign a left back, and stick White on the left side of midfield.
