Must admit, I'm struggling to see what anyone has done wrong here, looks like 
we rejected offers but then the player requested a transfer, that's how it 
seems to work at every other club nowadays.

However, I wouldn't put it past Bates to have engineered this is some way so it 
still looks good on the club.

We turned down bids until the right fee came in and Gradel himself asked to 
leave.

Its how most transfers have/will be done.

We haven't sold to a rival

Gradel has gone onto better things after being rescued from Leicester reserves 
by us and we have been compensated for that.

Looks like a model transfer to me.

Didn't want him to go but if he was to go it needed to fulfil all those criteria
