Actually Mike, it's quite the opposite. Bates has played hardball again
here with the player's agent. Normally, a player would expect a "loyalty
bonus" - a cut of the transfer fee, when he's sold.
But as with Schmeichel, he's been told that if he wants to leave, he has

bonus. So Gradel had to put in a transfer request, and forego his
bonus, if he
