Crowd would have looked better on the TV if we had sold lower South Stand seats
and then upper ones - as it was Upper Tier was full(ish) but not visible on
TV.Also the part of the  East Stand directly opposite the camera is more
expensive than the 'wings' and so is always empty.
As regards Keogh one goal in 7 league starts is not good enough - we can all
imagine what RW would be saying if Beechio had the same goals per game return.
I suppose it depends on whether you view the two strikers as a partnership in
which case 9 between them in 9 games is great. Becchio did have one great lay
off with his chest that resulted in a good shot from Forsell that was well
saved.
I think that Grayson should reward the back four for their clean sheet by
telling them that this will be the back four for the next 5 games irrespective
of results etc - it might sound drastic but at some stage we need to have some
continuity at the back , and whilst one game is a bit soon for saying this is
indeed our best defence, none of the players who are left out (kis, O'Brien,
Bromby) can argue that they deserve to be picked.
The midfield four is almost written in stone now - SG is going to pay £500k for
Pugh in January (allegedly) so he is a certain starter, Howson as captain will
always be chosen, Clayton has been a revelation and looks a class above , and
Snoddy is our best player on his day.
Up front McCormack deserves his place for the next 4 or 5 games whatever he
does or does not do in that period, so , for me - injuires and suspension
apart, the only question mark over selection for the next 5 games is Keogh. Has
he done enough to warrant keeping his place or should either Becchio or Forsell
be given a chance.
On another point, whislt I am on a roll , are we turning into a team of divers
?Clayton had 2 outrageous dives on Saturday to try and win penalties, McCormack
is on youtube entitled 'dying swan' for the way he went over at Brighton and he
does seem to throw himself on the floor at the least touch. Howson went down
very easily (as they say on TV when they mean 'dived') to get the Boro player
sent off, and Becchio spends half his time falling down (albeit half the time
he is given rough treatment)Not a great record when pretty much everyone agrees
that diving / play acting / simulation is one of the (many) things wrong with
the modern game and that everyone hates(unless it is your player doing the
diving
