I agree. It all boils down to the manager. He selects which players to bring in, controls training and selects the team and the style of play. Any player can have an off day, but this is becoming a long term defensive problem at ER. Any manager may claim that they are not allowed to bring in the players that they want for various reasons, but they are paid to work with what they have. Is George Graham free these days?

I see this in work situations frequently where people are accused of incompetency. Consider the senior person that made the appointment - that's where the "real" lack of vision, assessment and planning started the rot.
