Here's my view on why we won't go up this season -
Lonergan - confidence gone after seeing McCarthy come in and (probably
take his place between now and end of January)
Connolly - knows he's the only recognised right back at the club so
can take it easy
Kisnorbo - lost his pace & takes risks resulting occasionally in
penalties - poor defender but for some reason given captains armband
Lees - great potential but needs a quality centre half alongside him
White - same comment as Lees
Snodgrass - we rely on him too much - could get disillusioned unless
Bates shows he wants promotion asap
Brown - past it
Clayton - has had his purple patch for this season - needs a quality
central midfielder alongside him
Varynen - journeyman
Howson - average championship player - only excels in free role -
needs a quality centre forward to play off
Sam - league one player
Pugh - makes up the numbers
Becchio - league one donkey
McCormack - another who has had his purple patch this season
Keogh - average championship player - as bad as barn door Billy when
it come to goalscoring
O'Dea - big lump who probably can't remember who he's now playing for
Grayson - fighting a losing battle - seems to be losing his enthusiasm
Bates - content to see us flirt with the top six for most of the
season but would rather fund provision of executive boxes in the east
stand rather than give Grayson funds to get some quality into the side
