I totally agree with Dave, it's very hard to write match reports when there's absolutely nothing to write about. Throughout the game we struggled to string 2 passes together and it was frustrating beyond belief to watch pass after pass go astray or alternatively punt it long to Becchio who won very little in the air and when he did he just flicked it on to fresh air. How many times did we see Becchio struggle to get the ball under control and then when he did play a lazy ball behind a white shirt. It's awful to watch. Mind you I can't lay the blame all at Becchio's door (although for me he is a big factor) players like Clayton and Macca seem to have run out of steam in this team.
If you go back to West Ham away where I thought we were dynamic with Gradel Snodgrass, Howson and Clayton playing at high tempo it's all just gone to pieces and there'll be people who weren't there yesterday who will say stop moaning we're still in the top 6 but I think the lack of passion both on and off the pitch is the worse I've seen for a while. SOmething has to give. Reading looked decent but I think we made them look good, their goal was really well taken but he should never have had the opportunity. MCcarthy had been playing well, why drop him ? Lonergan did make one decent save after that to keep the score down but it didn't matter, we were never going score even if we were still playing now. And when we did get a free kick in a dangerous place Macca fluffed it. Surely Snoddy who had scored recently would have been the better option. There's no pace in the team, too many journeymen -Danny Pugh is the classic example. A totally and utterly below average player who just doesn't add anything to the side. No pace , no ability, how does he earn a living from the game? It's beyond me. And to make things worse the beer in the Adelphi post match was shocking. Scores Snodgrass - 6 All apart from Becchio - 0 Becchio - -5. If he isn't heading it in from 5 yards what does he offer? Nothing. Worse footballer to ever wear a white shite, you must be able to trap a ball. Grayson -running out of ideas Master Bates - got some thinking to do. I'm thinking of packing it in until Becchio moves on.
