If I mentioned Keogh and Becchio it would have been specifically at that time, because McCormack had stopped scoring and, at that time, Becchio should have the chance to benefit from Keoghs work as McCormack had been.
As it stands right now I would drop Becchio and give McCormack another run, if we still had Keogh. As we don’t it is a decision between trying Becchio and McCormack together (which hasn’t been done for some time), or McCormack and a.n.other. The difference between us is that if someone performs I am happy for them to be in the team, regardless of my previous opinions. But then again I don’t often say someone isn’t good enough to play for Leeds, because firstly I understand the level of player we should expect to have, and secondly I feel I have a half decent idea what the standard is for any level of football. There have been numerous times where a player has left Leeds when we all think it was the right time, but then gone on to play for some time at a higher level. Football is a funny old game, and professional footballers can all trap a football and pass 5 yards. Despite appearances to the contrary sometimes. I still don't rate Johnson although admit he is better than your average pub player but he eventually showed us that whilst at Leeds. As for young Aidy White ... for me our best player this season and has a bright future. The Giggs comment was tongue-in-cheek but I think he has real promise. Anyway, I'm waiting for the day for you to admit you're wrong .. just once , just a little acceptance ? You know like recently when you said Becchio and Keogh would be the ideal partnership ..... go for it Mark, tell us you never said it. Or Aidy White being the next Ryan Giggs? Of course he was good enough, he scored 19 goals last season, I can give you a list as long as my arm of forwards who played for Leeds who didn’t/couldn’t score 19 goals a season. -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Richard Walker Sent: 13 January 2012 13:08 To: DAVID NATTAN; list leedslist No doubt this all be attributed to his injury / loss of form but if you really reflect it's down to the fact that Becchio is and never was good enough to play for Leeds. Once again Uncle Rich is proved right. _______________________________________________ Leedslist mailing list Info and options: http://mailman.greennet.org.uk/mailman/listinfo/leedslist To unsubscribe, email [email protected] PETE CASS (1962 - 2011) Rest In Peace Mate
