Personally & probably I'll raise the roof , but this is not sour grapes....
I think that Howson has been quite manipulative. That's OK but don't play
the 'home boy -- broken hearted'. From the outset he's out for himself and
nothing else.
He's been spoiled: he kept his place where others would have been dropped.
He got the captaincy and was not a revelation... putting it mildly.
In fact we tried very unsuccessfully to make him a Stevie G [who is a
complete wanker in my eyes anyway -- a one trick pony like Lampard] . The
only one who bought into this hype is Howson himself.
I'd have taken 2 million for him at any time and especially not forgone
them for 8 games of Cheshire Cat like performances.
Maybe he'll work in Norwich. Methinks his AWOL attitude will not go down
well.
In short I think that all this spin makes me puke. He was never was Captain
Marvel as he was spun, he never was a true 'home boy' -- his antics showed
that. Selling him was right. What is wrong is that the money will go on MS
black hole and/ or be misused by a poor manager.
