Jesus, no I don’t think the club made a “great” decision, I think they made the
best decision they could seeing as Howson refused to sign a contract AND they
got a decent offer for him. It is a decision I would have made.

And I don’t think he is our saviour, I think he is an average , if mouthy, club
owner.

No Mark, it is you that is missing the point.

Anyway, no point in arguing anymore, you think the club have made a great
decision and I think it's tragic that we've lost our captain and best player.

You think Bates is our saviour and I think he's a cunt. It's all about opinions.

Rich, you are missing the point here.

There is no point getting into an argument again about whether the club pays
decent wages, or shows ambition, the point is simply that those things were not
the reason Howson decided to not sign a contract.

It was purely and simply that he wanted to play PL next season and did not want
to sign a contract NOW in case we didn’t get promoted AND to keep his options
open in the summer.

As far as Howson is concerned I am sure he would rather have not signed for
anyone NOW, because he would have wanted to help us get promotion and ideally
sign a nice new shiny PL contract with us in the summer. However the club were
faced with the choice of whether to allow that to happen, and risk getting
nothing, or selling him now and getting something for him.

As much as you rate Howson, he is most definitely not a match winner the same
as Beckford (hence the different decision made), plus he is injured at the
moment.

And as much as Howson would like to have had his cake and eaten it, he
understands the position the club was in and as there was an offer from Norwich
who are pretty much guaranteed PL football next season, he could see the sense
in going NOW.

L

Anyway, the point it Howson was sold because he would not sign a new contract.

Not because we offered him a shit contract

I would put money on that we offered him a shit contract. You don't know what
contract he was offered and neither do I but I know Ken Bates and my bet is
that Howson was still on League one wages, but if you don't know so why use it
as an argument.

Not because he perceived a lack of ambition

Undoubtedly we have a lack of ambition - any fool can see that. Do you think we
are an ambitious club ?

Not because we forced him to go.

Been told that your Manager and his staff have decided to take 2 million for
you suggests that you're not much wanted. not much point in hanging around
after that.

How do you know that he wasn't forced to go ? If my manager told me that he had
sold me to a rival firm I wouldn't really feel like sticking around. Again we
don't really know do we ?

Not because its all gone “bad” behind the scenes.

Undoubtedly it has gone bad behind the scenes. You only have to open your eyes
to see that. do you think it's a happy place at the moment ? Really, do you ?
Or again do we not really know ?

All 4 of those those reasons have been used as an excuse to bash Bates or
Grayson, and for the final frigging time, Howson “In his own words” has told us
all exactly why he signed for Norwich.

All we know is that he wanted to play in the premiership (with Leeds) and
surely that is the ambition of every current Leeds player so why use it against
him ?

Mark, you don't really know do you ? And neither do I but I can guess.

BATES OUT !!!

I disagree. If Bates had gotten us up last season, I bet Howson would have
stayed
